::Blazing New - Indiscretions Riddim:: Busy / Assassin / Konshens / Cherine / Timeka + More...

Greetings!

Shane C. Brown, Mr. Producer
extraordinaire has simply done it
again! 'It', is the production of a
certified 'oh so hot' riddim called
Indiscretions.

Bringing out the best in each performer,
Shane's riddim is already receiving
critical nods of approval from the
Fraternity in Jamaica, and abroad.

Some of the heavy hitters who voiced
include: Busy Signal with the chunes
"Beep" and "Missing You". "Beep" directly
addresses the JBC and the recent ban
of some Dancehall chunes from radio.
Assassin's chune "Stay Like Bees" asks
a powerful question: 'What if man did
stay like bees? Just like how dih bee
dead when him sting you / woulda dead
when the trigga squeeze'. Timeka asks
if she should 'hush, hush, hush', or should
she keeping on living a double Life?!

Also on the riddim are: Konshens /
Cherine Anderson / Lutan Fyah /
Peetah Heritage / Jah Cure / Richie
Spice. All chunes are certified; don't
sleep!

Broadcasting at 320kbps, catch the
Indiscretions Riddim here: http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=ce03febb96f53e5a8c9e7c56ba37815ff0b54c25980d23b4

Sunglass Breaks Into Fader Magazine

http://thefader.cachefly.net/GP_ATM_Blend.mp3

Every week resident FADER selector Eddie STATS runs through dancehall riddims and other artifacts from the ghetto archipelago.

The ATM is a new riddim from the label run by veteran deejay Bling Dawg aka Ricky Rudie, which is naturally called Dawg House. Built from scratchy scratchy sounds and techno-terrorist synths, it’s reminiscent of the Nookie riddim which backed “We Set the Trend”—Beenie Man’s unsolicited answer record to “Ghetto Story”—but more melodic and thus maybe a stronger vehicle for different versions. One of the toughest is from Assailant, a new artist I’ve been waiting for more new tracks from ever since Bounty Killer name-checked him in an interview I conducted with him for the FADER 10th Anniversary issue. Assailant’s name came up as one of a handful of Alliance young guns that Killer endorsed as a Could be the next Busy or Mavado type dude, and upon a MySpace and YouTube review, Assailant definitely stood out from that pack, killing a tune on the under-utilized one drop riddim Ole Sitt’n and a few other off-the-wall tunes like “Fling Some @#S%” and “A Wa.”

ATM / Sunglasses Blend:
Assailant, “Dirty Money”
Assassin, “Mind of my Own”
Busy Signal, “Blaze Up the Herbs”
Stacious, “It’s Over”
Bling Dawg, “Jamaica, Jamaica”
Fire Linkz, “I Need Money”
Bruk Up, “Sunglasses At Night”

Download: Ghetto Palms ATM / Sunglasses Blend

Then at the end I threw on (literally, like as in needle dropping) a track called “Sunglasses At Night” from dancer-turned-vocalist Bruk Up and NYC’s own Shortman Movements. Bruk’s flow sounds a bit like Ding Dong on Ricky blaze collabo’s like “Badman Forward” or “For Life,” while the hook does to Corey Hart what Blaze did to Depeche Mode on “How Mi Look.” But it works, the track is straight adrenalin, a ragga-soca meets evil NRG track that sounds like it would blend nicely with DJ Mujava’s anthem “Township Funk.” Note to self…

77Klash "Pressure"

The Fader says: “We’ve been following the individual trails of Brooklyn’s own power-chatter 77Klash and beatmaker extraordinaire Matt Shadetek for a real hot minute, as musical innovators of the biggest borough and as style inspirers (shout to Klash’s reversible multicolor vest and purple button-down he wore during his special live performance on FADER Radio in Austin. Individually, we sweat them, but together, they make a transcendent kind of bass-laden magic (see: ““Brooklyn Anthem“). This new Klash track with the evil grimey deez by Shadetek is the Jamaican-influenced equivalent of two fuzzy eyebrows slanted downward in a mean face, or maybe just the sound of your huge crew rolling up to the park in like, five trucks. We will roll with you, dudes! ”

Joey Brooks Hit Single "HeartBeat"

Born at The Victoria Jubilee Hospital and raised in Cassava Piece, Camelle Jordean Brooks affectionately known as “Joey” is the new Reggae/R&B singing sensation for 2009 and beyond. While attending The Queen’s High School Joey always enjoyed the subject of Clothing and Textiles. Meanwhile growing up in Cassava Piece the young songstress embraced a musically inclined childhood, where the Church played a vital role in the development of her music career/dream. At the tender age of 4 Joey recited poems at her grandmother’s Church then at age 8 she was a prominent member on the Church Junior Choir up until the age of 17. This is where she realised her potential to become a songwriter/singer. Joey then became a devoted songstress and wrote and sang her songs at Church functions. After being successful in 8 C.X.C subjects Joey graduated from The Queen’s School in 2002, then attended Institute Of Academic Excellence where she pursued a diploma course in Sociology. Joey, still having that zeal for entertainment and fashion designing decided to join The La Face Modelling Agency after which she went to Miguel Models. This allowed her interest to expand into makeup artistry; The Face Place Institute of Aesthetics was where she attended and so received a certificate of merit for her artistic quality. Being the all rounder that she is Joey also attended classes in Spa Therapy where she became a certified masseuse.2008 was when Joey took her music more serious, where she began recording. She then wrote and recorded her hit single “Heartbeat” produced by Ariff Butler of Bloozick media. “Heartbeat” has created a stir on local airwaves and has patrons dancing up a storm in nightclubs. Following her debut “Heartbeat” Joey wasted no time in following up with another hit single “Emotions”, which is sure to be a favourite amongst the guys. Being the younger sister of David Constantine Brooks more popularly known as Mavado, Joey is following in the musical footsteps of her brother, who has also inspired and motivated her in her musical journey. Joey Brooks has taken on the role of manager of Gully Side Wear and is still making fashion apart of her life. Apart from being a talented, hardworking singer and mother of one, Joey is a charismatic, outgoing, fun loving, jovial individual and the world is sure to love her music and the vibe she takes along with it. Continue to look out for Joey Brooks and upcoming singles.

Klarc Shepard Bio

Raised in the streets of Brooklyn, NY, DJ Klarc Shepard realized he was musically inclined early-on, learning to play the trumpet and piano. At 10, he stumbled upon his love for djing after his sister showed him the ropes of turntablism. He took this knowledge to the streets, rocking parties for older crowds.

By 13, Shepard was touring Jamaica, showcasing his skills at local parties. He later landed a job as a radio show host for Pirate Radio in Miami (where he learned the basics of radio broadcasting). During this time, he hosted various celebrity- parties including, Shaggy’s Platinum Party, The Bob Marley Fest, The Mix Show Power Summit Kick-Off Party in Miami and The Caribbean Reggae Fest.

In 2002, Shepard found himself hosting parties and serving as a tour DJ for mainstream Reggae artists. He was working not only in Jamaica, but in Miami and the tri-state ( NY, NJ and Connecticut) area as well. He was a featured DJ at the Radio One Tour where he performed for a crowd of more than 50,000.

In 2003, Klarc Shepard made a name for himself in Gainesville working for Sunshine Broadcasting’s urban- radio station Magic 101.3 (WTMG). He hosted a reggae show during the weekends that eventually was canceled. Shepard used his free time to produce hip hopmix-tapes that garnered attention all over the country. In 2005, the station’s execs caught wind of his success and invited him back as the Mix Show Director.

Two years later, he helped Magic 101.3’s ratings rocket to the number 1 spot in the market. Since then, he’s run the ones and twos at hundreds of parties, clubs and concerts. He gained a loyal following with his Reggae-inspired mix-tape series Radikation, which was one of the first-ever dance hall cds to have 60 plus tracks.

He’s worked with the likes of rappers Lil Boosie, Webbie, Yung Joc, Plies and Devin the Dude on his Ridin High mix-tape series. R&B artists The Dream, Pleasure P (formerly of Pretty Ricky) and J. Holiday have been featured on his Pink Chocolate series. For Klarc Shepard, music is the constant force in his life. Some days, there’s nothing around but music. “Music is my all-day, every day.”
