T.I. -- From the Big House to a Halfway House
T.I. -- real name Clifford Harris -- was sentenced to 366 days in the Forrest City penitentiary earlier this year, after he was busted in 2007 for sending his bodyguard out to buy machine guns and silencers.
T.I.'s lawyer, Steve Sadow, told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that the rapper is expected to report to Dismas Charities Atlanta West in Georgia tonight -- where he'll live in a halfway house for the next three months.
After his sentence is completed, T.I. still has to complete 500 hours of community service and 23 days of home incarceration.

Eminem Crowned Biggest-Selling Artist In Past 10 Years, Sold Over 32 Mil Albums
According to a Nielsen Soundscan report, Eminem has dominated album sales for the past decade despite only releasing three solo albums.
Em sold more than 32.2 million albums in the 2000s, edging out the Beatles to claim the title of top-selling artist. The Beatles ended up with the decade's best-selling album (they sold nearly 11.5 million copies of 2000's greatest-hits comp 1,) besting the likes of 'NSYNC's No Strings Attached (11.1 million copies sold) and Norah Jones' Come Away With Me, (10.5 million). Eminem was the only artist to place two albums on the list; his The Marshall Mathers LP and Eminem Show records landed at #4 and 5, selling 10.2 million and 9.8 million copies, respectively. Interestingly, of the top 10 albums of the decade, the most recently released is Usher's Confessions, which came out in 2004. (MTV)

Shane C. Brown, Mr. Producer

Bringing out the best in each performer,
Shane's riddim is already receiving

of some Dancehall chunes from radio.
Assassin's chune "Stay Like Bees" asks
a powerful question: 'What if man did
stay like bees? Just like how dih bee
dead when him sting you / woulda dead
when the trigga squeeze'. Timeka asks
if she should 'hush, hush, hush', or should
she keeping on living a double Life?!
Also on the riddim are: Konshens /

Peetah Heritage / Jah Cure / Richie
Spice. All chunes are certified; don't

Sunglass Breaks Into Fader Magazine
Every week resident FADER selector Eddie STATS runs through dancehall riddims and other artifacts from the ghetto archipelago.
The ATM is a new riddim from the label run by veteran deejay Bling Dawg aka Ricky Rudie, which is naturally called Dawg House. Built from scratchy scratchy sounds and techno-terrorist synths, it’s reminiscent of the Nookie riddim which backed “We Set the Trend”—Beenie Man’s unsolicited answer record to “Ghetto Story”—but more melodic and thus maybe a stronger vehicle for different versions. One of the toughest is from Assailant, a new artist I’ve been waiting for more new tracks from ever since Bounty Killer name-checked him in an interview I conducted with him for the FADER 10th Anniversary issue. Assailant’s name came up as one of a handful of Alliance young guns that Killer endorsed as a Could be the next Busy or Mavado type dude, and upon a MySpace and YouTube review, Assailant definitely stood out from that pack, killing a tune on the under-utilized one drop riddim Ole Sitt’n and a few other off-the-wall tunes like “Fling Some @#S%” and “A Wa.”
ATM / Sunglasses Blend:
Assailant, “Dirty Money”
Assassin, “Mind of my Own”
Busy Signal, “Blaze Up the Herbs”
Stacious, “It’s Over”
Bling Dawg, “Jamaica, Jamaica”
Fire Linkz, “I Need Money”
Bruk Up, “Sunglasses At Night”
Download: Ghetto Palms ATM / Sunglasses Blend
Then at the end I threw on (literally, like as in needle dropping) a track called “Sunglasses At Night” from dancer-turned-vocalist Bruk Up and NYC’s own Shortman Movements. Bruk’s flow sounds a bit like Ding Dong on Ricky blaze collabo’s like “Badman Forward” or “For Life,” while the hook does to Corey Hart what Blaze did to Depeche Mode on “How Mi Look.” But it works, the track is straight adrenalin, a ragga-soca meets evil NRG track that sounds like it would blend nicely with DJ Mujava’s anthem “Township Funk.” Note to self…

Joey Brooks Hit Single "HeartBeat"
Born at The Victoria Jubilee Hospital and raised in Cassava Piece, Camelle Jordean Brooks affectionately known as “Joey” is the new Reggae/R&B singing sensation for 2009 and beyond. While attending The Queen’s High School Joey always enjoyed the subject of Clothing and Textiles. Meanwhile growing up in Cassava Piece the young songstress embraced a musically inclined childhood, where the Church played a vital role in the development of her music career/dream. At the tender age of 4 Joey recited poems at her grandmother’s Church then at age 8 she was a prominent member on the Church Junior Choir up until the age of 17. This is where she realised her potential to become a songwriter/singer. Joey then became a devoted songstress and wrote and sang her songs at Church functions. After being successful in 8 C.X.C subjects Joey graduated from The Queen’s School in 2002, then attended Institute Of Academic Excellence where she pursued a diploma course in Sociology. Joey, still having that zeal for entertainment and fashion designing decided to join The La Face Modelling Agency after which she went to Miguel Models. This allowed her interest to expand into makeup artistry; The Face Place Institute of Aesthetics was where she attended and so received a certificate of merit for her artistic quality. Being the all rounder that she is Joey also attended classes in Spa Therapy where she became a certified masseuse.2008 was when Joey took her music more serious, where she began recording. She then wrote and recorded her hit single “Heartbeat” produced by Ariff Butler of Bloozick media. “Heartbeat” has created a stir on local airwaves and has patrons dancing up a storm in nightclubs. Following her debut “Heartbeat” Joey wasted no time in following up with another hit single “Emotions”, which is sure to be a favourite amongst the guys. Being the younger sister of David Constantine Brooks more popularly known as Mavado, Joey is following in the musical footsteps of her brother, who has also inspired and motivated her in her musical journey. Joey Brooks has taken on the role of manager of Gully Side Wear and is still making fashion apart of her life. Apart from being a talented, hardworking singer and mother of one, Joey is a charismatic, outgoing, fun loving, jovial individual and the world is sure to love her music and the vibe she takes along with it. Continue to look out for Joey Brooks and upcoming singles.

Klarc Shepard Bio
Raised in the streets of Brooklyn, NY, DJ Klarc Shepard realized he was musically inclined early-on, learning to play the trumpet and piano. At 10, he stumbled upon his love for djing after his sister showed him the ropes of turntablism. He took this knowledge to the streets, rocking parties for older crowds.
By 13, Shepard was touring Jamaica, showcasing his skills at local parties. He later landed a job as a radio show host for Pirate Radio in Miami (where he learned the basics of radio broadcasting). During this time, he hosted various celebrity- parties including, Shaggy’s Platinum Party, The Bob Marley Fest, The Mix Show Power Summit Kick-Off Party in Miami and The Caribbean Reggae Fest.
In 2002, Shepard found himself hosting parties and serving as a tour DJ for mainstream Reggae artists. He was working not only in Jamaica, but in Miami and the tri-state ( NY, NJ and Connecticut) area as well. He was a featured DJ at the Radio One Tour where he performed for a crowd of more than 50,000.
In 2003, Klarc Shepard made a name for himself in Gainesville working for Sunshine Broadcasting’s urban- radio station Magic 101.3 (WTMG). He hosted a reggae show during the weekends that eventually was canceled. Shepard used his free time to produce hip hopmix-tapes that garnered attention all over the country. In 2005, the station’s execs caught wind of his success and invited him back as the Mix Show Director.
Two years later, he helped Magic 101.3’s ratings rocket to the number 1 spot in the market. Since then, he’s run the ones and twos at hundreds of parties, clubs and concerts. He gained a loyal following with his Reggae-inspired mix-tape series Radikation, which was one of the first-ever dance hall cds to have 60 plus tracks.
He’s worked with the likes of rappers Lil Boosie, Webbie, Yung Joc, Plies and Devin the Dude on his Ridin High mix-tape series. R&B artists The Dream, Pleasure P (formerly of Pretty Ricky) and J. Holiday have been featured on his Pink Chocolate series. For Klarc Shepard, music is the constant force in his life. Some days, there’s nothing around but music. “Music is my all-day, every day.”

From the streets of Jamaica to the clubs of the United States, Jamaica’s premiere dancer, Bruck Up has kept busy dancing, and has collaborated with artists like Rupee (7 times platinum song in Europe called “Push It On Me”) Lumidi, and Wyclef John, just to name a few. Adding to his entertainment empire, Bruck Up took a hiatus from dancing and stole away to the studio and has been there for the past several years, finally releasing the first of many tunes, the worldwide summer anthem, “Sunglasses at Night”.
“Sunglasses at Night” is a collaboration with Bruk up and Shortman Movements from The Heavy Hitters, which will be featured on Shortman Movements Summer Scheduled ep " NEW ERA" and is a high energy, certified blazing, up-tempo dance beat which includes the latest swagger lingo, and calls dancers to the dance floor with their ‘stunna shades’.
New York’s premiere DJ, Jabba from Hot 97FM was the first radio DJ to premiere the song to over 9 million listeners who called in to request several ‘pull-ups’ of the song. Since then, “Sunglasses” has been the number one tune download on L3 Music Distribution’s download service which services over 1,000 radio DJ’s worldwide. “I’m overwhelmed by the response to the song”, says Bruk Up, currently in Atlanta. “I just Love to entertain, so singing is another extension of that”.
Later this month, Bruk Up will be shooting the Video for “Sunglasses”. Always surprising us with cameo appearances in celebrity videos, we’ll have to wait and see which celebrity artists will make a cameo appearance in Bruk Up’s video! When asked which Sunglass company will be showcased in the video, Bruk Up laughed saying “wait and see”!

Maikal X
http://www.rocknvibes.com/
The name one of Holland's most talented artists goes by: Michael Parkinson a.k.a. Shyrock a.k.a. Rollarocka. He’s presently working on his soon to be released solo material.
After having started his career as MC for AmoLab amongst others, Maikal X was a part of Postmen for nine years (with Anonymous Mis and G Boah).
He conquered Europe with his popular hip-hop/reggae act, performed at renowned festivals such as Pinkpop and Lowlands. He was awarded among other things with a Heineken Crossover award, a Zilveren Harp and the Popprijs on top of having major hits such as ‘Cocktail’ and ‘You Wait’. The debut album ‘Documents’ is still considered one of the best sold hip-hop/reggae albums ever in the Netherlands. Grossing over 70,000 albums sold.
After leaving the group, he became a much sought-after guest artist and worked with a host of Dutch artists. Now he is ready to make his entrance as a solo artist in his own right, with a name which is no longer tied to his musical past but to his future, thus Maikal.
"Michael is my own name, X stands for the different things I am known for, whether it is featuring with Opgezwolle, Extince or U-Niq or my years with Postmen. The names Shyrock and RollaRocka will always continue to be associated with me, and that's alright. In the end it is not the name, but the music you bring out".
In possession of a brand-new contract with the independent record label Rock ..N Vibes, responsible for the success of Ziggi, Maikal dove into the studio with producer Mr. Rude, to record new solo material. His first track is being given away for free on the Internet.
In spite of his successful past, he has a realistic outlook on his musical future. "I see myself as a new artist and as such, I have to prove myself. People are aware of the kind of work I have done throughout the years, but I have long been away from the limelight". Quote Mr. Rude: "It is a blessing to work with Maikal X"
